The experiences and exploits of a college grad trying to make it in the "real world:" leaving school and friends in New England, moving south, and living with her boyfriend. Watch as I pretend to be an adult.
I know, I know, I haven't posted in a very long time. It's hard...the real world keeps you busy! Here's a quick update:
I flew back to Mass on the 27th and spent the next two days in Amherst with Elija's mom. I retreived a few things from my old house, and met Elija's friends Alex and Madeline who were in town for a few days. On the 29th Elija and I drove out to Dochester and met up w/ Karen, and then later that evening we headed over to Laurie and Steve's place in Brockton (sp?). We spent a few days hanging out there, spending time w/ the two of them, Karen, and their friend Pete...who Laurie is trying to set Karen up with. Hehehe. On the 31st, we took the T into Boston and met up with the chicas at Ali's apartment. After we exchanged secret santa gifts and went to King's bowling alley, which is sort of trendy and upscale. We ate dinner and drank copious quantities, other people bowled, and when the band came on around 10:30, we danced a bit. I called my sisters to wish them happy new year, and then counted down w/ about 500 other people in the place. After the stroke of midnight, I got my new year's kiss from Elija, and then we hung around for a little while before returning to Brockton. The first we headed back to Amherst for a couple days. We hung out at the house (OD), ran some errands, packed up the rest of my stuff, and had dinner with Elija's dad. Which was interesting, as always. Everything was fairly normal until the end of the meal (which was delicious), when he announced he had more presents for Elija and his brother Hossanah...he left the room and returned w/ two girft cards and a book. He set down the gift cards in front of each boy, and then said,
"Now, this book is for both of you...and you too, Libby. It has information I wish I'd had at your age." We looked down and read the title..."How to give her Ultimate Pleasure." Yeah, his dad had given us a sex book. Heh heh. I'm sure I must have blushed, but fortunately, Hosannah jumped in and started talking.
The trip was a lot of fun. It was really great to see everyone, and I had a wonderful time. Laurie and Steve are awesome hosts (Laurie made us omlettes!) and I always have fun with my girls. It was esp. excellent to see Karen again and catch up with her...I still think she need to just move around and follow me to Va or NC, or wherever I end up!! She really is the best roomie ever. And last, but certainly not least, the last couple weeks have given me a lot of uninterupted time with Elija- something we haven't had much of this semester.
Anyway, we came back to Va a few days ago (just in time for me to start work), and I've been working at EC while Elija chills at my Dad's. Tonight we head down to Raliegh to get Elija settled before he starts classes (on monday) and then I'll come back up here. But I get to go visit him next weekend! It's going to be great to be so close. (smiles)
So there you have it.
