    Libby does London- Pt 2

Tuesday morning dawned bright and early- not that we noticed. We stayed in bed until 11. Jet lag and a virus continued to push our rising hour back a half hour later a day until we were finally forced to get our assed out of bed early on Friday for our flight.
After breakfast we headed to the tube station and headed over to the Museum of London. It had some really cool exhibits, included a section on "London before it was London" which featured a number of artifacts dredged from the Thames. The Roman "Londimium" exhibit was also interesting, but I found the Tutor and Victorean rooms a bit dull. This could also have been due to the large number of children- apparently British schools never actually hold class; they just herd the children from museum to museum. Anyway, after MoL, we walked over the St Paul's.
I'd expected something large (it is one of the biggest cathedrals in the world), but I was still astounded. It is simply massive. Standing in front of it, the spires stretch up so far they seem to lean together at the top, and once you get some distance and see it contrasted against the rest of the skyline- well, it is breathtaking. The dome dominates everything else in the area. Take a look at our pictures if you doubt!
After gawking at St Paul's it was over the Thames to the Tate modern. As for that...well, I got to saw Monet's "Water Lilies," which was very, very cool. Other that, ehrm. I suppose modern art just isn't really my thing. Moving on.
I got to see the (reconstructed) Globe theator, which was very very cool. We took some pictures, and then made our way to the Tower of London, and played tourist. Took pictures (including a very cute one of the two of us), got a postcard for Elija's mom, and headed to dinner in whitechapel. After wandering around for a bit, we found the restaurant we were looking for and had one of the best Indian dinners I've ever enjoyed. For 13 pounds total! Sooo good.
Back to the flat to rest up for our next adventure!
