Make new friends, but keep the old; one is silver....ooh, shiney!

So, last night was most definately the night for old friends. I met up with Lisa and Christine for dinner at "Rio Grande," which in and of itself would be nothing out of the ordinary. However, while we were there, we noticed a waiter across the room who closely resembled a "satelite friend" from highschool- you know, the friend of a friend who wasn't exactly in your social circle himself, but you had contact with from time to time? The kind of person who, while you wouldn't call them up to invite them out, you would expect them to recognize and talk to you if you were to bump into one another. Well, after much debate (which was periodically interupted by our insanely peppy waitress), the question was laid to rest after he came to within about three feet of us, and then turned and ran away. It was definately him, and the funny thing is, the last time we saw him, he was waiting tables at another restaurant. Apparently this time he didn't want to speak to us. Oh well.
When I got home after dinner and errands, I sent an IM to waiter-boy's friend, the one who had been in our social group (the boyfriend of a friend, to be technical, and someone who I've kept in sporadic touch with through college) to tell him the story. We chatted for a bit and did the obligatory "catch up" conversation, and I started thinking about old friends. I've been in the mood to write about "people" (as opposed to events) lately, so maybe I'll write about some of my groups when I get a chance. I don't immagine it'll be until after London, but you never know. Until then:
If you're one of those random old friends who still has my SN on their buddy list and checks my blog occasionally, but never talks to me- speak up! IM me, write me, whatever. I'd love to hear what you've been doing with yourself.
