The experiences and exploits of a college grad trying to make it in the "real world:" leaving school and friends in New England, moving south, and living with her boyfriend. Watch as I pretend to be an adult.
My sister was driving through an intersection two nights ago, when a woman turning left failed to yeild, and crashed into her. My sister was fine, fortunately, but her car is badly damaged, and may be totalled. Normally this would be bad enough; who fails to yield turning left?! But it gets worse. The police were called, because Katie's car wasn't driveable, and after getting Katie and this woman (who is 50, by the way) to exchange information, he asked them what happened. This is where I get really pissed: The woman LIED. To the officer's face. And not just a little lie, like "oh, I think she was speeding," or "the sun was in my eyes." No, she told the policeman that Katie ran a red light, while the lady had a green arrow. I am OUTRAGED! First of all, to lie to a cop about that kind of thing? How much nerve do you have to have?!? And not even a little white lie. This wasn't a, "No, officer, that beer isn't mine." What gall! How DARE she lie about something my little sister did? That bitch! She was at fault, plain and simple- has our society degenerated to the point where no one will take responsibility for their actions? Now before you get all noble on me, and start saying things like "well, what if it wasn't her fault? What if you sister really did run the light?" let me clarify. Katie drives a little car, and was at the end of a line of cars going through the light. She knows the light was green, because (in addition to seeing it), the cars in front of her we going through. She also knows the lady turning left didn't have a green arrow because the left hand turn lane in Katie's direction was stopped- blocking the womans view of Katie. Thus, the collision. Evil, untruthful bitch! I hope a particularly nasty level of hell is reserved for her.
