I'm back! Or, should I saw "we're back." After much packing and cleaning, Elija's stuff (and some of mine) is all either in storage or at my Dad's house. We're all settled in nice and cosy at my Dad's house. Well, more or less. My parent's house is going to be part of this "Clifton Homes Tour" thing, and so my stepmom has gone into hyperdrive trying to beautify the house. As a result, all of our rooms have gotten makeovers. Some, like Caroline's, are a resounding success. Others, like Katie's, are not so much. Her bed is now a rather unfortunate combination of surprisingly agressive stripes and startlingly ruffly flower pillows. My room, however, looks very nice. I have new sheets in a sort of muted brick color that I really love and accent pillows to match. However, my bathroom has been rather ransacked. I can't find essentials like my tweezers and hair elastics, and for some reason my hamper has been disasmbled and left in a heap on the ground. In any case, walking in to the new color scheme was a pleasant surprise. I think the moving or the cleaning fumes must have gotten to me, because last night, after we'd moved everything out of the car and were about to go to bed, I got a leeeetle punch drunk. All I really remember is laughing hysterically while Elija tried to find out what was so damn funny. While we were down in Raleigh we looked at a few apartment complexes and found one we like. It's a little older, but very nice, and the rent is just dirt cheap. We're sending in an application in a couple of weeks. Now all I need is a job...
