The experiences and exploits of a college grad trying to make it in the "real world:" leaving school and friends in New England, moving south, and living with her boyfriend. Watch as I pretend to be an adult.
Unlike my favorite fictional car from childhood, the Mustang isn't magical. My car doesn't fly, or have conversations with me, or wisk me away to the beach when I need a quick break. Right now, apparently, all it does it turn its check engine light on and off. My car went into the shop yesterday for an oil change and a check engine light, and they called last night to say it was done. This filled me with excitment and relief, because, after all, if they only had it a day, they couldn't have had to do much work on it. This turned out to be the case. Besides the oil change I requested, they checked the air filter....and that was about it. When I asked the guy why the light had been on, he told me "Oh, that's almost always nothing, I'm sure it's fine." Er... ok, but I'd still like to know why it came on. So, he checked the error message my onboard computer generated, and it turned out to be EGR Insufficient, which the mechanic said may be a problem with my EGR valve. This wouldn't be a serious issue, maybe $100 to fix, but at this point, I don't even know if that's really the problem. Arg! Damn car. Ah well.
