    London's burning...

I am stunned. I still can't believe what happened in London yesterday- why? And HOW? London has camras everywhere. No, really- EVERYWHERE. England has been dealing with the IRA for decades, and has far more experience with terrorist activities than the USA did three and a half years ago. How on earth did someone manage to plant bombs on their public transit system? It boggles my mind.
The good news is my stepbrother and his family were here in the states. They're planning to go to my lake house in Ga (and will, in fact, be arriving there today) and so weren't anywhere near London yesterday.
My feelings yesterday were much different than on 9/11. I feel terrible for the people who were hurt and killed in the attack, and sick that someone would kill innocent civilians just to make a statement. But the anger I feel is much more evenly divided than it was four years ago. I'm as angry with our government as I am with the people who planted the bombs.
You cannot "wage war" on terrorism. A group like Al Queda (or the IRA, or PLF, or what have you) cannot be bombed out of existance, or invaded, or even captured. You cannot destroy it through violance- and in fact, in trying to do so you can only make it worse.
It's very clear that the current administration does not understand this (along with, oh, I don't know, basic finance and ethics), and that scares me.
