The experiences and exploits of a college grad trying to make it in the "real world:" leaving school and friends in New England, moving south, and living with her boyfriend. Watch as I pretend to be an adult.
The only thing I'm going to say about 9/11 is this: after all the politiking, after all the fighting, after the finger-pointing, and the billions and billions of dollars spent- does anyone feel better off or safer now? I know I don't.
Most of you who know me know I suffer from itchy feet- eeeww no, not that. I like to travel. You're icky. Anywho, more and more lately I've been indulging in "armchair traveling," reading about exotic, far off lands from the comfort of my very own living room. It's a rare trip to the bookstore that doesn't find me coming home with at least one travel/adventure book, and in between getting my fixes of the "hard stuff," I read a few travel blogs. Now, I know not everyone is as into this as I am, but hey, I figure I'll share some of my favorite travel blogs anyway.
The Traveling Hobo: This guy has been traveling the world for a living for 8 years now. I must warn you, his writing is terrible- spelling and grammar are atrocious. However, his stories and pictures are exceptional. He's been to more unusual and interesting places than just about anyone else I've encountered. He has his website set up in some sort of wierd way, so that all of the pages have the same url. If for some reason this link takes you to another portion of it, just look for the "blog" link, usually located at the top of the page, and that should take you back to his weblog.
The Russian Chronicles: A woman travels from Vladivostok to St. Petersburg, retracing a trip she took 10 years ago. She's looking up the people she met along the way, and commenting on the changes she observes. It's well written, has lots of great pictures, and you can read about her old (1995) trip here.
Where is Jennifer.com: What can I say- I want to BE this woman. *sigh* She got tired of working as a CPA, and so moved to Paris for a month. She loved it, and figured out she could work from just about anywhere, and so stayed. After a while, she fell in love with a hot German pilot, and they now take fabulous vacations. *swoon*
That's really it for this post- oh, but I'll be changing my layout soon. You know, somehow the pool layout doesn't really say "fall" to me. ;o)
