The experiences and exploits of a college grad trying to make it in the "real world:" leaving school and friends in New England, moving south, and living with her boyfriend. Watch as I pretend to be an adult.
The rest of this weekend has been pleasantly calm. Saturday dawned grey and rainy, putting an end to our hopes of going for a hike. Instead, Elija and I gave the apartment a much needed cleaning, read for a bit, and then went out to see "In Her Shoes." Oh, and I prepared a fabulous steak dinner. Mmmmmmm. The movie was nice, nothing special... I think more than anything else it made me wonder when/if that sort of story line will stop making me feel a bit hollow inside. Don't get me wrong, I think it would be worse if I didn't miss my mom... *shrugs* I dunno. Today was somehow marathon laundry day even though I just did it last week. I don't know how, but I swear Elija goes through more clothes than I do. We had three washing machines going, and each was packed to the brim. We waited around the corner at the local coffee shop, and I got started on monthly financials for EC. After we got everything folded and crammed back in the laundry basket, we headed off to Lowe's for some sort of textured spray paint Elija needed for a project. We made a serendipitous wrong turn, and found a great Asian market just off the beltline. It's much larger than the usual ones in the area, and has some nice produce at fantastic prices. We also located a Thai restaurant that we put on our "try sometime" list, and after some time spent driving in the wrong direction, hit up HD. After shopping (and listening to Elija talk about the various pros and cons of the glue he was buying with the cashier *yawn*) we went to dinner at this fabulous Kabob place a short ways down the road. Oh, and I found cheap gas. Whee! It looks like the weather may be starting to cool off a bit down here. It's been in the low seventies the past few days, and we finally turned our AC off a couple days ago. The trees haven't started turning yet, but that's probably only a couple weeks away. I'm hoping the seventy-ish weather stays for a while before I put away my tanktops and summer skirts for another few months...(ducks as my Ma readers breathe a collective "bite me").
**Trivia: "tanktops" is not recognized by the Blogger spellchecker, but "TANSTAAFL" is. **
