    I want a house husband...

What I'm listening to: Aretha Franklin, Respect

So much to blog about, so little time.

Let's see... Well, the biggest news here is I've joined a gym and have been going faithfully. I'm sore, but it'll fade...It'll fade, damnit! I go to the local Y, which is a great, low-key place to work out; plus, it's right on my way home.
I've found that when I work out and get home late (around 7-ish) Elija has dinner waiting for me. I cannot even describe how nice this is. Remember, back before women's lib, when the fairer sex was supposed to keep house for their breadwinning men? Yeah, well, no fricken' wonder the men didn't want it to end! And all you guys out there who are lucky enough to 1) be able to afford a SAH wife and 2) find a woman willing to do this...Jesus christ, man, treat her like a queen. It is amazing to walk in the door to find dinner waiting, the bed made, and the kitchen tidy. I swear, it's the highlight of my day.
I'm seriously trying to convince Elija that he should just be a SAH boyfriend. No, seriously, I am more than willing to work and pull long hours if I never have to cook, clean, or do laundry again. In fact, it sounds like heaven.
This weekend Elija and I went to the international festival here in Raleigh. There was a lot of good food, some interesting crafts booths, nice beer, and some...er, different forms of entertainment. These ranged from some pretty cool dance exhibitions to extremely unfortunate musical numbers. Apart from the slightly obscene number of children there (really, bringing young 'uns to a crowded event like that is just asking for trouble), overall it was pretty cool. I found a Christmas gift for my stepmom, so that was good.
Last weekend we also saw "Good Night, and Good Luck," which was one of the best movies I have seen in a very, very long time. But that is for another post.
Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go cuddle up to my boy.
