    Wicked pisser

Rain is absolutely pouring down. It's wet, cold, and everyone is driving like an idiot.
This morning, Elija flew back to Mass. Now, usually getting to the airport is a breeze. We live fifteen minutes away, and in the half dozen times I've been there, I've never run into traffic. Today was different.
I40 was backed up for miles before the RDU exit- we crept along at a crawl for twenty minutes, while we freaked out, wondering if we'd get to the airport on time. It was close, but Elija made his flight. Phew!
Of course, then I got stuck in traffic on the way back, making me worry that I'd be late to the morning meeting. Again, I made it- barely.
I don't know why a little bad weather turns the drivers here into bumbling morons, but it's freakin' annoying.
Needless to say, the apartment is really quiet. It's wierd not having Elija here when I get home, but I like the change a little- even if I do miss him. I'm pretty sure the novelty will wear off soon, and by new years I'll be going stir crazy here.
