To all my friends in New England:

    Ha Ha!

    Guess what I did today?

Well, I went hiking. I went hiking on beautiful, snow free trails with the sun shining, the birds chirping, and all the other woodland creatures frolicking about. (Ok, shut up, the only other woodland creatures there were squirrels and they didn't really frolic, but that's not very Disney, now is it?)
I went hiking in a pair of capris and a sweatshirt. That's right- no jacket, no gloves, no scarf. None of that crazy arctic tundra gear you poor suckers are bundled up in. In fact, it has been between 45 and 65 degrees the last two weeks. AND I LOVE IT!
This is absolutely fantastic, I love it here. Elija and I went on a five mile hike through some of the foothills outside Cary at this state park. A number of people were out, but once we got away from the closest trails the crowd thinned out a bit.
Elija and I talked about living in Europe, discussed vacation options for this summer, I threatened to beat some small children with a large stick... oh, and we made fun of the people who had trekking poles and hydration packs. Seriously- who the hell brings trekking poles and/or hydration packs on a FIVE MILE HIKE? Losers, that's who.
Many people had brought their dogs out to play, as the park is pet friendly, and that made me miss having animals around. *sigh*
But still definately a good day. Next time I go, I'll take picturs- I promise.
