    Welcome!

Hey all. Like the new digs? Ok, ok, same digs, just a bit of redeccorating. Anywho, I'm pleased with it.
Please note the lovely new Flickr badge in the lower left corner. The pic should change every time you refresh the page. Neato! Actually, I'm waiting for Google to come up with a cooler, more efficient, feel-good version of Flickr which I will then laboriously switch to while proclaiming its superiority. Google is the Apple of the internet, or hadn't you heard?
I watched Bowling for Columbine tonight (I am boycotting the SOTU address- reading about it tomorrow will be painful enough). I generally consider Michael Moore to be Anne Couter's liberal counterpart. That is to say, I think that they're both irritating, attention-whoring blowhards who refuse to see anything beyond their narrow version of right/wrong. Granted, I tend to aggree with MM's view of the world more than AC's, but his arguments still give me the screaming heebie-jeebies.
I am pleased that Moore discussed the correlation betweeen gun violence, gun control, the media, and culture. He did a fairly decent job of at least SUGGESTING that the problem is not as simple as "cultural violence" or "violence in the media" or "readily available guns." Clearly gun related fatalities in the United States is thirty-odd times higher than in most developed/first world countries- and it's too simple to dismiss it as a result of manifest destiny, ethnic tensions, scare mongering media tactics, poverty, etc. At least Moore touched on this. I feel like he blamed the news a bit too much, but hey.
I also did my federal taxes today. Yay for refunds! I'm very excited. I would like to rejig my witholding so that I get more taken out of each paycheck. I'd love to know I'd get a grand coming back in April... That'd be sweet.
